Budget Holiday Deals in Kentucky

While many tourists from the United States want to go on an expensive holiday overseas, travelers should remember that there are some great holiday destinations within the US too. Kentucky is a travel destination that offers some great budget holiday deals at this time of year. The horse farms and rolling hills of the Kentucky countryside make for a delightful road trip.

There are some great distilleries to visit throughout the state on the so-called Bourbon Trail, where you can tour the huge vats of bubbling gold liquid where the bourbon is fermented and then aged in charred white-oak barrels. Everyone gets a half-ounce shot of bourbon to taste at the end of these tours, and are taught how to sip like professionals. For a very reasonable price you can stay at an inn in the country's largest restored Shaker settlement which was built in Harrodsburg in the 19th century by the idealistic Protestant sect, which practiced celibacy even after marriage.
